September 1 begins the transition to Fall and the countdown to the Summer Equinox. These butterfly bushes at the cottage were full of Monarchs beginning their journey home to Mexico. How nice that they would stop by and say “hola” on their way.

Elberta and Frankfort both have easy beach access and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is farther north on M22 near Empire. Arcadia, to the south, has a nice beach access with play area.
